Intelligent Reservoir Characterization
ISI's has been a pioneer in application of AI&DM to reservoir characterization. We started this process in early 1990s. ISI has a significant number of publications that is dedicated to this topic. Our intelligent models for reproducing results of core analyses from well logs and other available geological data and interpretations have been extended from sandstone formations to complex carbonates and recently to shale plays.

ISI's technology on application of AI&DM to reservoir characterization can help engineers and scientists to successfully populate static models for reservoir simulation studies. Our technology, unlike some of the canned routines in popular geological modeling software applications that are trying to surf the waves that have been created by genuine AI developers such as ISI, provide tools to validate the results of the intelligent modeling technology. Unfortunately, reservoir characterization using AI technology has been an early victim of the marketing ability of those that have a limited understanding of the technology.
